Committee charge: The Buildings and Grounds Committee, in cooperation with appropriate district administration, oversees plans and policies which assure that the district’s facilities, grounds and transportation support and enhance all academic, co-curricular, and community activities of the schools; that they are safe; that they are maintained as required; and that plans are in place to ensure future needs are identified and, in conjunction with the finance committee, adequately funded.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- The committee receives reports from district administration, provides counsel and advice to administration relating to the committee’s mission, and makes recommendations to the Board concerning issues relating to the district’s facilities, grounds and transportation.
- The committee shall assist administration to review and recommend major capital items as well as the replacement of major items of district-owned personal property. The committee will assist district staff in the selection of architects and general contractors for major building projects.
