Kristin Cimonetti is the vocal/choral music teacher at Mill River Union High School. As a member of the Arts Academy staff at Mill RIver she conducts the 7th and 8th Grade Junior Chorus and the 9th-12th Grade Senior Chorus. She also conducts five auditioned ensembles which include Vivace, Cantiamo, Tempo Tantrums, Clef Hangers and the Chamber Singers. Kristin teaches Castleton University’s Music Theory 1/ Sight Singing 1 at Mill River as part of the Performing Arts Academy. She received her BMus in Music Education from Houghton College and Masters in Education from State University of New York at Stony Brook. Her students have been placed in District, All-State, New England, ACDA, and All-Eastern choral festivals. Her choruses have received the highest honors at state and regional competitions. Kristin has also served as an adjudicator, accompanist and guest conductor at many choral festivals. Kristin is the Past-President of the Vermont Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association and is the Vocal Chair for the Vermont Music Educator’s Association. She has had the honor of receiving Mill River’s UVM Teacher of the Year Award as well as the VMEA Outstanding Music Educator of the Year award. Kristin is passionate about seeing students flourish through singing and she is thrilled to be part of the Mill River community.
