Mr. Holmes is the seventh grade math teacher here at Mill River. He joins us after retiring from working in software development for twenty-five years, including thirteen years where he ran his own software development firm. He enjoys building, reading, ice hockey, quilting, hiking, skiing, running around with his dogs, and telling tall tales. He’s eaten escargot in France, brown cheese in Norway, and ants eggs in Mexico, but prefers the home taste of pancakes with Vermont maple syrup. A former professional blackjack dealer on an Indian reservation in Minnesota, Mr. Holmes is about to publish his second children’s book, Emmaline and the Fluffles, under the pseudonym J. J. McGeester.
